Diego Cajaraville Aboy
Researcher
Diego Cajaraville Aboy is a second-year Ph.D. student and researcher at the Information and Computing Lab (ICLAB) of the AtlanTTic Research Center at the University of Vigo. He earned his Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Vigo in 2024, specializing in telematics, distributed systems and intelligent networked applications. His research focuses on the decentralization of collaborative learning environments, federated learning, and emerging infrastructures in computing continuum, addressing the challenges of distributed intelligence, scalability, and privacy-preserving computation in heterogeneous environments. Through his Ph.D. studies, he aims to advance the fundamental understanding of federated and distributed learning and influence the design of next-generation computing infrastructures that support it. He aspires to shape a more decentralized, privacy-aware, and energy-efficient digital future.
Despite being in the early stages of his doctoral studies, he has contributed to various open-access manuscripts and collaborates with research groups from other Spanish universities, particularly in the field of decentralized federated learning. Apart from that, his other areas of interest include data communication, communication architectures, computer network engineering and the use of mathematical theory fundamentals to address it.
